What is Student Organization S.A.L?
We, S.A.L, base our fundamental philosophy of our organization on our presupposition, how the students should be ‘the subject’. We, the students from Keio University, have established our organization last year in June 2008, to deepen our knowledge on the international issues and enlighten the students in Japan.
There are three concepts to make up S.A.L,
S stands for send out (send out the status quo of international issues)
A stands for Aid (aid people in need)
L stands for Learn (learn and understand the reality of the world)
Based on these three concepts, we face the reality of the world by considering what we can do with our members, which includes planning projects, events and other specific activities to support the people in need.
S.A.L does not only strive to dispatch the international issues to the external world, but also through our events organized by the students, we focus to enlighten the students who are not interested in the international issues and to provide an opportunity for the students who are interested, but do not know how to get involved. By providing an opportunity for the students, we can make more people interested in the international issues. It is our advantage as being students, to make a chain of providing opportunities to the students in Japan.
Undergoing a year after the set up of our organization, to be a catalyst to provide opportunities to people, and to develop as an individual as well as an organization; S.A.L will strive to work on our missions.
